Ergonomic Physical Therapist

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a fulltime outpatient Ergonomic Physical Therapist to join our Work Hardening and Business Health Services team!

As an outpatient Ergonomic Physical Therapist, you will primarily focus on work hardening, functional capacity evaluations, and business health service needs to optimize work environments and body mechanics to reduce strain, prevent injury, and increase productivity. Our work hardening program is a highly structured individualized program designed to help patients return to their pre-injury work level in a safe and timely manner. It aims to help patients regain their biomechanical, cardiovascular, metabolic, neuromuscular and psychosocial functions in conjunction with their work tasks. It includes strengthening and flexibility exercises, cardiovascular conditioning, spine and joint stabilization exercises and job task training (i.e. pushing, pulling, crouching, lifting, bending, sitting, or twisting). Additional key aspects of this role will include workstation assessments, repetitive strain treatment, movement coaching, and preventive education. You will also work with business health services, presenting information on industrial rehab therapy and employer clinics. This position will be located in our industrial rehab gym in the La Crosse Clinic and onsite at area businesses.

Reporting to the Vice Dean, Campus Life and Student Experience, the Director, Student Intervention and Community Standards will lead a unit that holistically manages student support initiatives including student conduct and case management. Working with campus colleagues, the Director is responsible for managing, processing, and adjudicating all academic and behavioral misconduct governed by the Barnard Code of Conduct. In administering these processes, the Director safeguards the integrity of the College's conduct system and manages institutional risk by ensuring that every matter is resolved through fair, consistent, and fundamentally sound process; that all student-facing communications of the unit accurately reflect applicable policy; and that conduct findings and outcomes are supported by a documented rationale in the record. The Director will be charged with developing strategy and resources that will have a continued positive effect on the Barnard student experience. The Director will identify and deploy national best practices within the field of student affairs, to develop and maintain consistent policies and processes that are fair, equitable, and student-centered.

This is a 12-month position and some evening and weekend work will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the College's primary student conduct administrator, overseeing the College's student conduct processes, including academic and social/behavioral misconduct across the College. Collaborate with colleagues to establish, update, and implement policies and procedures relating to the College's Student Code of Conduct, Honor System, and all other academic and behavioral policies applicable to all enrolled students. Consult with the Office of the General Counsel as needed to ensure policies are in compliance with local, state, and federal law regulatory guidance, including FERPA, the Clery Act, Hazing, and applicable civil rights obligations.

Ensure procedural integrity in every conduct matter: identify and apply the correct governing policy and ensure that prescribed procedural language in all notices, outcome letters, and student-facing communications are consistent with that policy; document the rationale supporting each finding and outcome sanction in the case record; and ensure outcomes sanctions are proportionate to the underlying conduct and consistent with institutional precedent. Provide leadership in coordinating and promoting signature initiatives, high-impact practices, support programs, and cross-divisional partnerships leveraging Barnard's resources for students. Lead a weekly overview of weekend incident reports to ensure appropriate knowledge sharing across relevant campus departments, and determine follow-up actions to be taken. Responsibilities

Portfolio Project Leadership

  • Manage development, relocation, refurbishment, expansion, and decommissioning projects nationwide.
  • Lead projects through five core phases: Initiate, Plan, Design, Construct, and Close
  • Develop and maintain Project Charters, Budgets, Master Schedules, and Risk Registers.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects ranging from 10,000 SF to 60,000+ SF.

Leasing & Landlord Coordination

  • Support lease negotiations by reviewing work letters and landlord obligations.
  • Coordinate tenant improvement (TI) allowance tracking and reimbursement.
  • Interface directly with landlords and property managers.
  • Ensure compliance with lease-required documentation and closeout submissions.

Consultant & Vendor Procurement

  • Lead RFP processes for: Architects & Engineers, general Contractors / Construction Managers, furniture Vendors, IT / Tel-Data / AV / Security Consultants, relocation Specialists.
  • Level bids and prepare award recommendations.
  • Support contract negotiations (AIA agreements and consultant contracts).
  • Validate insurance and risk requirements during construction.

Design & Pre-Construction Management

  • Facilitate programming
  • Manage all phases of design including :SD, DD, CD, and CA documentation phases.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives.
  • Identify long-lead procurement items and pre-purchase strategies.
  • Align IT, AV, security, and branding scope with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in Bluebeam and Smartsheet

Construction Oversight

  • Chair weekly preconstruction construction meetings and OAC meetings.
  • Monitor RFIs, change orders, submittals, and schedule updates.
  • Perform site visits (minimum two per project; additional as required)
  • Review and validate contractor pay applications.
  • Monitor budget exposure and contingency utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, permitting, and insurance requirements.

Financial & Reporting Accountability

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets (hard & soft costs).
  • Produce: Monthly Budget Reconciliation, anticipated Cost Reports (ACRs), change order logs, variance analysis.
  • Present executive-level updates outlining financial, schedule, and risk metrics.
  • Ensure projects meet fee-based benchmarks tied to office size structure

Project Closeout & Operational Handoff

  • Oversee final inspections and punch list completion.
  • Confirm receipt of: As-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, lien waivers, regulatory sign-offs, lease Requirements for TIA, produce final cost reconciliation reports.
  • Ensure smooth transition to Facilities and Office Leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of commercial real estate project management experience.
  • Experience managing Class A corporate office tenant improvement projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of: AIA contracts (A101, A102, A201 preferred)
