Dental Hygienist
Aiea Pearl City Dental Care LLP
Pearl City, HI

Job Description

Job Description
Aloha! We are excited to find a caring person to join our dental team at ‘Aiea Pearl City Dental Care (for full time or part time). We are a locally owned and operated general dentistry office providing dental care for families for over 45 years. We would like your help to inspire togetherness by providing a caring dental experience for patients and team members. We believe that through togetherness we can help each other live our best lives.

During work, our priorities are 1) the safety and health of oneself, teammates and patients, 2) working together as a team, and 3) creating connections with each other and our patients. Family, progress and continual “plussing” as Disney calls it, food, and laughter are also important to us.

We are looking for someone with a passion to help and serve others especially our teammates, an openness to learn, and who is able to use their imagination to deliver care.

We usually have 2-3 dentists and 3-5 hygienists in 10 chairs. 1 hour blocks for adults, 30 minutes for kids, 60-90 minutes for SRP, optional accelerated options for additional compensation. For new patients, it's 30 minutes with the doctor and 60 minutes with the hygienist. Floater assistants help to take x-rays, probing, impressions, and room turnover.

We use digital charts (Carestack), digital sensor x-rays, CBCT/pano/extra oral BW, intraoral cameras and cavitrons available. Intraoral scanners for digital impressions, CADCAM/3D printing are available. AI for x-rays, perio, and charting.

We have dropped our COVID protocols but do have Medify Air HEPA filters, UV filters, HVAC ionizers, extraoral suctions, HVE suction mirrors.

Compensation is based on experience and consistency of availability (especially Saturdays or evenings), accelerated option, and participation in our bonus programs (delivery of proactive care treatments and patient education). Once qualified, 401k participation is available. Free parking. Medical, Holidays, PTO, life insurance, disability insurance, BLS, CE/Ethics for full time.

We have a multi-doctor practice but each patient has a dedicated doctor to help establish a relationship and consistency in care. Our goal is to make the patient experience relational, not transactional. We value our hygiene appointments as time to coach home care and build relationships. Someone with production and compensation as their priority may not be a good cultural fit.

Someone who finds joy in serving others, is dedicated to their team members, empathetic, and open to progress would be a great fit. Some who understands that no task is below anyone and is willing to help team members turnover rooms, perio chart, take x-rays, restock, or sterilize, would be a wonderful fit with our team.

We work hard but we eat a lot and laugh a lot and we do it all as a family.
