Homeless Outreach Worker - CTA 3
The Thresholds
Chicago, IL

Job Description

Job Description

The Thresholds Homeless Outreach Program (HOP) was established in 1989 to provide assertive outreach, linkage to primary and psychiatric care, and resource referral to people experiencing homelessness along with serious mental illnesses. We are Chicago’s only citywide mental health homeless outreach program, and our primary goal is simple: to get people living with mental illnesses into stable housing and help them recover and regain their lives. We believe it is not enough to simply be available to the people who need our services – we need to bring our services to them.

As a Homeless Outreach Worker, you will work in pairs to meet clients on the streets, in shelters, on the CTA, and at any other location where people who are homeless may be found. You will build relationships with potential and current clients to determine what needs can be met by Thresholds services or linkage to other providers. You will develop a service plan in partnership with the client with goals related to housing, benefits, treatment, advocacy, and other identified needs. In addition to working on long-term goals, you will also address immediate needs: food, water, harm reduction kits, hygiene items, and warming/cooling supplies.

Homeless Outreach Workers are out in the community in all weather and conditions, which takes commitment and grit. Thresholds will have your back through a collaborative and supportive culture that provides you with the tools and resources you need for the best client care. Opportunities for training and professional development, including clinical supervision, will deepen your knowledge and expand your clinical skills in harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based practices. This invaluable experience will set you up for a variety of career paths and growth opportunities within our organization.

To succeed in this role, you need:

  • Passion for housing advocacy
  • Willingness to be in the community in all conditions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Strong time management, organization, and flexibility
  • To be at least 23 years old
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to provide transportation to clients
  • Willingness to work Monday - Friday 12:30pm - 9:00pm

Many education and experience paths are eligible for this role:

    • High school diploma or GED certificate and 5 years of supervised clinical experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
    • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and 2 years of supervised clinical experience
    • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field

      • Based on education and experience
    • Generous PTO (9 federal holidays, 8 days of sick leave, 15-22 days personal and vacation)

    Automotive Technician
Neff's Diesel Repair & Performance, LLC
    Sandy, UT

    Job Description

    Job Description
    Automotive Technician — $35–$65+ Per Flat-Rate HourMonday–Friday | No Weekends | Climate-Controlled Shop | Elko, Nevada

Strong technicians should not have to choose between earning a great income and having a life.

We are hiring a highly productive B-Level Automotive Technician who can diagnose accurately, complete quality repairs, and consistently turn hours.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a family-owned repair shop that has served the Elko community for more than 17 years.

Our family has been part of Elko County for more than 100 years. We are established, growing, and building a shop where serious technicians can earn well without dealing with corporate politics, constant chaos, broken equipment, or weekend schedules.

    Compensation

$35.00–$65.00+ per flat-rate hour, based on your ability, experience, certifications, efficiency, and production.

Our productive technicians typically earn $90,000+ per year, with additional upside for technicians who can diagnose, produce, and fix vehicles correctly the first time.

There is no artificial ceiling for a technician who performs.

    What You Get
    • Monday–Friday schedule
    • Closed every Saturday and Sunday
    • Heated and air-conditioned shop
    • 64+ hours of paid holidays
    • 60+ hours of paid time off to start
    • 100% company-paid health insurance
    • 100% company-paid dental and vision insurance
    • IRA match
    • Fuel card
    • Company-paid training
    • Professional shop equipment
    • Service advisors who can present and sell your recommendations
    • Established processes that reduce chaos and wasted time
    • A team that wants you to produce and succeed
    • Family-owned leadership that understands the value of a skilled technician
    Who We Are Looking For

This position is for a technician who can operate at a high B level or above.

    You should be able to:

    • Perform accurate inspections and digital vehicle inspections
    • Identify primary safety concerns
    • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
    • Build complete repair recommendations, including labor and parts needs
    • Complete maintenance and repair work efficiently
    • Produce consistent billable hours
    • Communicate clearly with the service team
    • Follow established processes
    • Work without constant supervision
    • Take ownership of repair quality
    • Help maintain a clean, professional, drama-free shop
    • Fix vehicles correctly the first time

Experience with domestic, Asian, and light-duty vehicles is preferred.

ASE certifications are valuable, but demonstrated ability, production, and repair quality matter more than certificates alone.

This Position Is Not for Everyone

    Do not apply if you:

    • Need to be constantly reminded to finish work
    • Avoid inspections or documentation
    • Blame advisors, parts, tools, or coworkers for low production
    • Create drama
    • Resist proven processes
    • Perform incomplete repairs
    • Are uncomfortable being accountable for your work

We are not looking for someone who simply wants to be present for eight hours.

We are looking for a professional technician who wants to produce, earn, improve, and work alongside other professionals.

    Why Elko?

Elko offers an opportunity to earn a strong income without the traffic, crowds, and cost structure of a major city.

The area is surrounded by wide-open country and year-round outdoor opportunities, including:

    • Hunting
    • Fishing
    • Camping
    • Hiking
    • Off-roading
    • Mountain biking
    • Snowmobiling
    • ATV and side-by-side trails
    • Public land and open space
    • Easy access to Nevada’s mountains and backcountry

Elko is approximately 170–300 miles from larger metropolitan areas, making it a strong fit for someone who values independence, outdoor access, a close-knit community, and room to breathe.

The mining industry attracts many skilled workers in this area. Our advantage is different: you can build a serious income while working Monday through Friday in a professional, climate-controlled automotive shop—and still have your weekends.

    Our Culture

    We do things differently.

Our systems are designed to reduce confusion, prevent unnecessary delays, and create a shop that is free from constant chaos and drama.

We know what it feels like for a skilled technician to be underpaid, unappreciated, ignored, or expected to work with broken and outdated equipment.

That is not the shop we are building.

    We want technicians to have:

    • Clear expectations
    • Strong support
    • Quality equipment
    • Consistent workflow
    • Advisors who can sell
    • Opportunities to improve
    • Recognition for production and quality
    • A workplace they are proud to be part of
