Responsibilities

The role blends inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, echocardiography, nuclear imaging, and stress-testing.

  • Read and interpret echocardiography and nuclear perfusion studies (board certification encouraged)

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of heart and vascular problems.

Minimum Requirements

A Brief Overview

The Pediatric Hospital Medicine attending physician will work in a variety of settings including general pediatric services, surgical co-management team, complex care, and/or sedation services. The position requires a graduate degree (MS, DMP, or PhD) in medical physics or a related discipline, at least two years of experience in clinical diagnostic radiology/nuclear medicine physics (including residency, if applicable), and board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Medical Physics from the American Board of Radiology. For those board-eligible, we will provide a faculty appointment in Radiology after board certification. You must demonstrate excellent organizational, project management, and written/oral communication skills. The successful candidate must be flexible in nature, have sound judgment, and have the ability to work as a member of a collaborative team while still demonstrating strong individual initiative.

Qualifications

MINIMUM: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor – normally will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research in peer‑reviewed journals and be recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. MUST BE BOARD CERTIFIED/ELIGIBLE IN: General Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
