THE OPPORTUNITY

Group and Voluntary Benefits is undergoing the most consequential structural shift in a generation. Carriers that deploy AI as a system – across every value stream from quoting through claims – will capture significant five-year transformation value. Those that deploy it as point solutions will strand most of that value. This practice builds and delivers that architecture. We are looking for consulting managers who understand the domain deeply enough to design what the reinvented experience actually looks like – not just build the technology on top of the old one.

ROLE SUMMARY

Group and Voluntary Benefits Consulting Managers lead delivery workstreams on complex agentic transformation programs across the carrier value chain – from front-stage broker and employee experience design through back-stage operational reinvention. This is end-to-end work, not point-solution consulting. Managers on this team design the orchestrated outcomes, build the business cases that justify them, and govern the delivery programs that make them real.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deliver agentic value stream solutions – leading workstreams across quoting, onboarding, data exchange, enrollment, billing, claims, integrated absence management, and renewals – with a clear eye on the orchestrated outcome, not isolated automation.
  • Translate carrier strategy into operating model design – redesigning how examiners, case managers, underwriters, and enrollment teams work alongside AI agents; distinguishing copilot augmentation from autonomous agent workflows and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Build and validate carrier-specific business cases – constructing V1/V2/V3 financial models grounded in loss ratio mechanics, adoption rate sensitivity, and five-year cumulative value architecture.
  • Lead platform and technology workstreams – working across industry leading platforms EIS, FINEOS, Majesco, Vitech along with ben tech and ben admin platforms – and designing the integration architecture that makes agentic solutions operational.
  • Shape client relationships and grow engagements – contributing to Mode 1 assessments and Mode 2 delivery proposals; developing ideas into go-to-market offerings; identifying net-new opportunities within active accounts.
  • Develop and mentor junior consultants – building the team’s industry knowledge, analytical frameworks, and agentic AI fluency through active coaching on engagement.
  • Bring a product owner mindset – running agile delivery cadences, managing scope and delivery risk, and owning the quality of workstream outputs at client sites and within Accenture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting, industry, or technology delivery experience, with at least some focus in group benefits, voluntary benefits, health insurance, or an adjacent financial services domain
  • Minimum of 5 years of working at or with carriers, TPAs, InsurTech/BenTech firms, or platform providers – or consulting to them in a strategy or delivery capacity
  • Minimum of 2 years of familiarity with group benefits or insurance business processes – claims, enrollment, billing, underwriting, or absence – at a level that allows meaningful design work, not just current-state documentation
  • Bachelor's degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Domain Depth – Group and Voluntary Benefits Value Chain

  • 7+ years across the carrier value chain – especially claims, absence, enrollment, data exchange, or billing
  • LTD/STD disability, FMLA/PFML, or integrated absence management experience
  • Voluntary benefits product knowledge: accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, supplemental health, stop-loss
  • Broker channel, employer group, or ben admin ecosystem familiarity

Technology and Platforms

  • EIS Group, FINEOS, Majesco, Vitech V3locity, or legacy modernization implementation experience
  • Front-stage experience design and implementation – broker portals, employer self-service, and employee-guided enrollment and claims journeys
  • Ben admin platform integration: Workday, bswift, Businessolver, Benefitfocus/Voya, PlanSource
  • LDEX, EDI 834/835, API-first data exchange, Noyo/Ideon connectivity models
  • Agile product owner or product manager in a technology delivery context (3+ years preferred)

AI and Agentic Transformation

  • Experience designing or deploying AI-enabled workflows – applied delivery, not just tool familiarity
  • Understanding of multi-agent orchestration vs. copilot augmentation vs. RPA – and when each applies
  • Familiarity with insurance AI platforms: EvolutionIQ/CCC, Nayya, Gradient AI, Quantexa, Reserv, or equivalents
  • HITL design, AI governance frameworks, and adoption rate as an operating model problem

Business Development and Commercial Contribution

  • Contribution to proposals, SOWs, or commercial opportunity shaping in a consulting context
  • Carrier C-suite or VP-level relationship development
  • Experience translating technical delivery into P&L-level business cases

Demonstrated experience leading workstreams or teams on complex implementations, process redesign, or technology transformation programs
