Responsibilities:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you help patients get their power back . You are the person who can help people communicate, swallow, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. In doing this, you take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, you design the plan, and work with patients to execute those plans.

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a 4x10’s day shift role, with shifts running Monday through Friday and variable start times. Caregivers in this role will be expected to participate in both call and holiday rotations.

Applicants may be hired on at a level I or level II, depending on experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.

  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.

  • Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.

  • Adheres to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.

  • Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.

Summary

Provides basic nursing care by assisting in the assessment of the resident on admission and on an ongoing basis. Remains knowledgeable about and communicates to the appropriate interdisciplinary team (IDT) member any significant change in condition. Accurately documents all assessments. Notifies the physician timely using the SBARR as the communication tool. Maintains composure during any crisis situation such as family dissatisfaction, staff disputes, or inclement weather in a calm and professional manner. Monitors the care of the residents closely to see that the care plan is being delivered effectively. Identifies problem areas and uses the QAPI process to actively address the situation for immediate problem resolution. Remains aware of the status of the residents to quickly identify behavioral changes or other untoward signs or symptoms. Answers call lights and/or assists with residents' ADLs as needed. Completes, at a minimum, twelve hours of offerings related to nursing related continuing education. Has a commitment to keep current with best nursing practices through knowledge of Bethesda's policies and self-study. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Current LPN license in the state you will be working
  • CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
  • IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
  • Time management and organizational skills required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
