SUMMARY

Provides leadership to Life Skills Trainers (LST) in the residence and in the community and provides direct services to program participants.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

  • Participates in client training to assure client objectives and company goals are achieved.
  • Participates in community outings, house orientation to all new employees, serve as a role model to all house staff assuring that documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Replaces, reassigns, or cancels staffing assignments as needed.
  • Facilitates residential staff problem solving, provides direct residential staff supervision, and initiates residential staff corrective action interventions, as required.
  • Coordinates and completes participant and staff accident/injury/incident report investigation forms for incidents that occur during shift.
  • Assumes immediate leadership role in implementing personal intervention, active treatment, and crisis prevention as needs arise during shift/while on community outings.
  • Successfully completes mandatory training. Responsible for attending annual/Semi-annual refresher/re-certification courses prior to certification expiration.
  • Assists with house staffing needs and staff recruitment as required.
  • Reviews client progress, coordinating and implementing shift objectives and making recommendations to the supervisor.
  • Provides for the delivery of services such as skills training, job coaching, behavior management in accordance with the Individual Plan (IP) and/or treatment team.
  • Provides coaching and leadership to LST’s to ensure that the therapeutic goals are met and that programs are facilitated in a respectful manner.                                                          
  • Understands and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures; also ensure compliance with relevant external regulatory statutes and standards.
  • Performs other delegated duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and trainings, as required. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
 

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in providing direct services in the human services field. 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Required:

  • Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if providing transportation for individual receiving services.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • N/A

  •      Travel required as needed

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Allen-Bradley PLC Programming and HMI Programming
