Dental Hygienist
Aesthetic Dentistry of East Greenbush
East Nassau, NY

Dental Hygienist — East Greenbush, NY

Non-Exempt | Part-Time | Clinical Role

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM

  • An established, loyal patient base that already shows up ready to invest in preventive care
  • Modern clinical technology and streamlined workflows that let you focus on patients, not paperwork
  • A collaborative clinical team that respects your judgment and gives you the time every patient deserves — not a rushed, assembly-line schedule
  • Full administrative and support-staff backing, so you can stay focused on hygiene, not busywork
  • A positive, team-first culture where you're genuinely valued, not just scheduled

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Aesthetic Dentistry of East Greenbush is a well-established cosmetic and family dental practice built on a simple philosophy: prevention and attention to detail. Dr. Jim Reynolds is stepping in to lead the next chapter, bringing fresh energy while keeping the same patient-first values that built this practice. It's a genuinely exciting time to join: a loyal, established patient base, a strong foundation, and a new chapter just getting started.

WHERE YOU'LL PRACTICE

East Greenbush sits just east of Albany, right in the heart of New York's Capital Region — close enough for an easy commute into Albany, Troy, or Schenectady, but with the feel of a true hometown community. Picture rolling hills, the Taconic Mountains on the horizon, community parks with summer concerts, and a friendly, small-town pace that doesn't sacrifice access to city culture, shopping, and outdoor recreation. It's the kind of place people plant roots — affordable, welcoming, and easy to love.

POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for a licensed, compassionate Dental Hygienist who takes real pride in preventive care and patient education. This is a part-time role — Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM — great if you're looking for real work-life balance without giving up meaningful, hands-on patient care. Here, you'll partner with a clinical team that respects your expertise, protects the time you need with every patient, and genuinely has your back — this isn't an assembly line, it's a team invested in doing hygiene right.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Care

  • Perform dental cleanings, including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing
  • Conduct periodontal assessments and charting
  • Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations
  • Administer preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants
  • Spot signs of oral disease early and loop the dentist in fast

Patient Education & Experience

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care in a way that actually sticks
  • Reinforce the dentist's treatment recommendations with clarity and confidence
  • Send patients out the door with clear, thorough post-treatment care instructions

Clinical Support & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, thorough patient records
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control protocols without exception
  • Keep instruments and operatories sterile, organized, and appointment-ready
  • Collaborate with the team to keep patient flow smooth and on time

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES & EXPECTATIONS

Success in this role is measured by the following standards:

Schedule Utilization

Maintain a full, efficiently paced hygiene schedule in partnership with the front office

Charting Accuracy

Complete thorough, accurate periodontal charting at every recall visit

Re-Appointment Rate

Re-appoint patients for their next hygiene visit before they leave the chair

Compliance

Zero deviations from OSHA, HIPAA, or infection-control protocol

Patient Education

Document education provided and treatment recommendations reinforced at each visit

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Valid Dental Hygiene license in New York
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Preferred

  • Certified to administer local anesthesia — it’s a bonus if you have it, but not required
  • Previous experience in a dental or clinical setting
  • Familiarity with modern dental practice management software — a plus, not required
  • Experience with periodontal therapy and patient education programs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Schedule is Part-Time — Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; the role involves prolonged standing and fine motor work.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Competitive hourly wage depending on experience
  • Employee dental care discount, paid sick time, and additional perks based on eligibility
  • A supportive, collaborative team that backs you up clinically and personally

HOW TO APPLY

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply now — all inquiries are kept strictly confidential.

This job description reflects the primary duties and expectations of the Dental Hygienist role and is not an exhaustive list. Responsibilities may be adjusted based on practice size, volume, and leadership direction.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Aesthetic Dentistry of East Greenbush provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
