HOW A SCITLS Omnissa (Horizon VDI) Administrator WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Performs systems administration for enterprise Omnissa solution.

  • Installs, configures, and maintains Omnissa software.

  • Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system’s servers, hardware, applications, and software.

  • Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards.

  • Monitors everyday systems, evaluates availability of all server resources, and performs all activities for Omnissa software.

  • Assists with configuring and deploying all virtual machines and installs and provides backup to all configuration procedures.

  • Maintains and monitors all patch releases, designs various patch installation strategies, and maintains all systems according to program standards.

  • Provides Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting support, interfacing with the end users and other technical teams from a service support perspective.

  • Supports the building and maintenance of the image for VDI terminals.

  • Maintains patches and baseline.

  • Supports the local applications in the OS image.

  • Maintains VMware backend capacity and stability to support virtual desktops.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Responsible for maintaining situational awareness of services, networks, applications, and associated devices; performing proactive monitoring of applications for status, performance, and health; and monitoring and evaluating configurations and performances of NetOps service.

  • Leads and directs CYOC Watch Desk personnel through actions implemented by NetOps and DCO teams and is responsible for providing operational support for data services, network transport, and any required coordination with Government directed elements.

Job Description:

USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies.

SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.

Our work depends on a SCITLS Power BI Administrator Expert joining our team to oversee the administration of our Power BI tools that support USSTRATCOM. The SCITLS Power BI Administrator Expert will be an essential component in ensuring the effective operation of vital systems and engineering the success of the SCITLS mission. This is an ONSITE day shift position at Offutt AFB, Sarpy County, Nebraska. On call work may be required. Relocation assistance is available.

HOW A SCITLS POWER BI ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages Power BI tool within Power Platform and administers integrations with other systems.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to lower-level Power BI Administrators.
  • Manages access rights/control and provides user support as needed. Manages the settings that govern Power BI users for an organization.
  • Manages on-premises data gateways, including creating data sources, managing data source users, and deleting the gateway.
  • Registers on-premises data sources with the Power BI Admin Center to enable cloud access.
  • Creates, deletes, and manages users.
  • Creates, deletes, and updates datasets, and manages the schema and data sources connected to the datasets.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree and 10+ years of experience or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience designing Business Intelligence dashboards
  • 5+ years specific to Microsoft Power BI
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within 9 months of start the ITIL® 4: IT Service Management (ITSM) Certification
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within 30 days of start one of the following certifications: CompTia CASP+/SecurityX -or- Cisco CCNP Security -or- ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Must possess Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must possess US Citizenship
  • Deep expertise in Power BI Service Administration
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, and KPIs
  • Proficiency in Power Query (M Language) for data transformation and shaping
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI tenant settings, workspaces, gateways, and dataflows
  • Familiarity with Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell scripts, and admin APIs for automation and governance.
  • Knowledge of data source connectivity, including on-prem and cloud-based sources (SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure, etc)
  • Ability to manage Power BI licensing, security groups, and user access provisioning
  • Experience setting up and enforcing data governance, naming conventions, and workspace policies.
  • Experience supporting Power BI users, including troubleshooting, onboarding, and training.
  • Proficient in building Power Automate flows for process automation
  • Integration of Power Automate with Power BI (alert-triggered workflows, dataset refresh automation)
  • Ability to collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical issues into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Understanding of ETL Processes, data pipelines, and data integrity best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide subject-matter expertise to other administrators

Other duties:

  • Assists in developing and delivering capacity and performance reports as needed. Validates, documents, tracks, and manages the as-is capacity for network resource areas.
  • Monitors current performance and utilization, capacity projections, capacity issues, and assists in creating plans for improving performance and satisfying Government-approved Service Levels.
  • Defines and develops capacity utilization dashboards that detail memory capacity and performance metrics. Develops and delivers capacity and performance reports as needed.

Region. U.S. News & World Report has just released the 2024-2025 ratings and rankings, in which GW Hospital is recognized as a Best Regional Hospital. Additionally in 2024, GW Hospital received the American College of Cardiology's National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) Chest Pain - Myocardial Infarction (MI) Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.

U.S. News and World Report named GW Hospital as a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) in 2024. This designation means that GW Hospital provides a high standard of care for patients with uncomplicated pregnancies. This designation is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News' Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.
