We’re seeking a mission‑focused leader to oversee Red Cross services on a major military installation. In this role, you’ll manage a team of staff and volunteers, ensure consistent delivery of SAF programs, and build strong relationships with senior military leaders and community partners.

You’ll represent the Red Cross across the installation, lead volunteer recruitment and engagement, ensure efficient program operations, track outcomes, and manage the local budget.   • Provide leadership, direction, and operational support to Red Cross paid and volunteer staff located on military bases and military treatment facilities, ensuring consistent delivery of programs and services in alignment with Red Cross policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for full staff management, including hiring, assigning work, coordinating, training, coaching, and evaluating performance.

  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with community leaders, military leaders, government and civic organizations and other charitable agencies to further the mission of the Red Cross.

  • Ensure the efficient and consistent delivery of programs and services in accordance with specified Red Cross policies and procedures, and strategic plan.

  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure metrics are consistently met. Oversee training and professional development for staff and volunteers to strengthen capabilities, retention, and program effectiveness.

  • Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of up to 30 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential.  May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

  • Maintains deployment readiness at all times by completing medical requirements, clearance requirements and by completing ongoing training requirements to maintain proficiency with casework and relationship management.   

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.  

  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.

  • Must be able to operate independently, with initiative, and manage an assigned area of responsibility, with general supervision.  

  • Strong computer skills are required.  

  • Public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multiple priorities are essential.  Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is strongly desired. Recognize and report any recordkeeping failures or omissions to Management or Radiation Safety Officer. Able to perform routine calibration on equipment without assistance.
  • Strictly observes safety precautions and uses protective devices when handling radiopharmaceuticals. Safeguards against unnecessary exposure to radiation. Always prepares kits according to the manufacturer inserts and uses aseptic technique when preparing radiopharmaceutical kits and injecting patients.
  • Demonstrates effective use of RIS, PACS and hospital-based computer programs and adheres to all policies and practices regarding confidentiality of all electronic communications. Demonstrates through knowledge and ability in the collection and submission of documentation needed for NM and PET reimbursements.
  • Responds to changes in the work schedule. Covers all shifts on a rotational basis (Virtua South divisions) and responds "on call" immediately when contacted by Communications and arrives within the appropriate time established by Virtua Health policy.

  • Maintain working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field of sexual assault in order to enhance the effectiveness of the advocacy program.
  • Serve as a liaison with community partners, as directed by the Executive Director
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for medical advocacy and crisis hotline
  • Nurture and maintain a healthy work environment that encourages respect, equality, diversity, and continuous professional improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:

  • Prior experience with legal advocacy such as filing HRO/OFP or court accompaniment, preferred.
  • Prior experience facilitating multi-disciplinary task forces or teams.
  • Have a working knowledge of strategies and methods of support for victims/survivors of sexual violence.
  • Must be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities.
  • A strong commitment to social justice and dismantling of all forms of oppression.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fluid work environment
  • Team-oriented person who will foster a positive working environment.
  • Knowledge of community and criminal justice systems.
  • Prior experience with drafting documents, facilitation and public speaking skills.
