Opportunity Details



  • Manage HIV patients and provide primary care to all patients living or affected by HIV.

  • Manage patients with other chronic viral infections like Hepatitis B and C.

  • Provide in‑patient consultation for the Infectious Disease Service and follow up with patients in the Outpatient Infectious Disease clinic.

  • Play a major role in the transition of care for patients admitted to the hospital with infection and link to the Outpatient Infectious Disease clinic in a timely manner with no interruption of therapy.

  • Supervise assigned Residents/Fellows, Nurse‑Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.


Qualifications



  • Active and unrestricted NYS medical license.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Infectious Diseases.

  • Completed HIV fellowship or specialized training in HIV care; meets state HIV Specialist designation.

  • At least 3 years' experience in HIV clinical care.

  • At least 2 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

  • At least 10 hours per year of CME in HIV.


Wages and Benefits


Annual Base Salary: $242,000* (Board Eligible); $247,000* (Board Certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.


The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $321,720** (Board Eligible) and $327,220** (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:



  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):

    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.


  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.

  • Perform comprehensive rheumatologic evaluations and manage patients with autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.

  • Provide medical oversight and ensure the safety and well-being of study participants throughout the trial, under the supervision of the PI.

  • Review and interpret eligibility criteria, laboratory results, ECGs, and other diagnostic tests as required by the protocol and under PI supervision.
  • Assist the PI in making medical decisions regarding participant care, adverse events, and protocol deviations.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely collection and documentation of all study data.
  • Communicate effectively with the PI, study team, and, as delegated, with sponsors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), and regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with investigational product accountability, storage, and administration according to protocol.
  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and inspections as required.
  • Maintain continuous medical education and stay current with advancements in clinical research and relevant therapeutic areas.

Requirements

  • Must be an MD, NP, or PA-C with experience in rheumatology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key member of the utilization management team, providing timely medical review of service requests that do not initially meet the applicable medical necessity guidelines. Routinely interacts with physicians, leadership and management staff, other Physician Clinical Reviewers (PCR), and health‑plan members and staff whenever a physician’s input is needed or required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews cases in which clinical determinations cannot be made by the Initial Clinical Reviewer.
  • Discusses determinations with requesting physicians or ordering providers, when available, within the regulatory time frame of the request by phone or fax.
  • Provides clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals.
  • Provides assistance and acts as a resource to Initial Clinical Reviewers as needed to discuss cases and problems.
  • Utilizes medical/clinical review guidelines and parameters to assure consistency in the physician review process so as to reflect appropriate utilization and compliance with Prime's policies/procedures, as well as URAC and NCQA guidelines.
  • Ensures documentation of all communications with medical office staff and/or physician/provider is recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in on‑going inter‑rater reliability training and testing.
  • Assists the Medical Director and/or VP, Medical Director in research activities/questions related to the Utilization Management process, interpretation, guidelines, and/or system support.
  • On a requested basis, reviews appeal cases and/or attends hearings for discussion of utilization management decisions.
  • On a requested basis, may function as Medical Director for select health plans or regions, assuming overall accountability for utilization management while working in conjunction with the VP, Medical Director.

We have established a multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment program for children with epilepsy, multidisciplinary autism program, and international neuromuscular program. The ideal candidate will assist with growing our pediatric neurology division. We have an amazing team assembled already and are looking for excellent clinicians and leaders to join our team. The division consists of seven board-certified pediatric neurologists (two of these Epileptology; three of these neurodevelopmental) and four full-time APPs who are primarily on inpatient service support. The division currently has active programs in epilepsy (6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit), neurodevelopmental, ketogenic diet, neuromuscular disorders and a Pediatric Rehab/PM&R inpatient unit.
Job Duties
Primary responsibilities include outpatient clinics and shared inpatient rotations with call, trainee education and clinical research. The Voelcker Clinical Research Center provides support for faculty involved with research.
Minimum Qualifications

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The attending psychiatrist is the clinical lead of the outpatient team and is responsible for all aspects of patient care on the team, including safety and quality. The attending psychiatrist will provide direct patient care, and clinical oversite and supervision to the behavioral health outpatient practice.

Direct Patient Care

  1. Provide direct care to patients assigned, including appropriate and timely care and documentation.
  2. Complete admission assessment, with a focus on comprehensive risk assessment for all new intakes, and re-assessment of patients in a timely fashion consistent with policy.
  3. Conduct appropriate outreach and relevant documentation as per policy.
  4. Complete treatment plan documentation consistent with policy and appropriate to patient's risk level.
  5. Participate in and conduct inter-disciplinary team meetings as per the standard of work and policy. Participates and conduct tier reviews as per policy
  6. Ensure appropriate use of de-escalation, and participate and provide leadership in outpatient behavioral codes.
  7. Participate in medical codes in the clinic until the Code Team arrives.
  8. Work with all teams to help patients move through appropriate level of care
    • Appropriate risk stratification and re-assessment of risk level.
    • Consideration of referrals to community resources like AOT, ACT etc.
    • Participate in discharge planning and include referrals to alternative levels of care.
  9. Collaborate and coordinate with primary care and other medical specialists.

Qualifications

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $255,900* (board eligible); $266,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $380,590** (board eligible) and $396,920** (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.

About the Position

NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx is seeking a Psychiatrist to join the Behavioral Health team at a 213-bed community hospital known for its outstanding services in Behavioral Health, Women’s Health, Primary Care, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Specialty Ambulatory services. The department includes 3 Adult Inpatient Units, a satellite CPEP, a Psychiatry Consultation Liaison service, a Partial Hospital Program, an Outpatient Department, and an ACT team.
