Core Responsibilities

  • Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality and continuity of care.

  • Conduct weekly 30‑minute collaborative meetings and 30‑minute asynchronous communication time with each assigned APP to review cases, address clinical challenges, and provide ongoing mentorship.
  • Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently within the team.
  • Assist in the professional development of APPs by fostering clinical growth, offering feedback, and supporting continuing education.
  • Participate in team‑based care initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and high‑quality care.
  • Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program.

We Seek Applicants Who

  • Hold an MD or DO degree, are board‑certified and diplomates of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years as an attending physician in the primary specialty.
  • Are licensed to practice and prescribe legally in MA and are or have been credentialed with insurance payers; a strong preference for multiple state licenses.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
  • Have a strong interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with APPs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic setting.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The NP may select a preferred administrative day (any day except Monday or Friday) and can perform that day remotely.

This office serves a large pediatric population. The NP will have a panel of approximately 900 patients, enhancing practice operations, increasing patient volume and efficiency while providing excellent care—including traditional primary care visits and same‑day sick appointments. Providers work autonomously to the top of their licensure while functioning as part of a team.

Job Summary

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop and apply new and established LC‑MS/MS and ICP‑MS analytical methods.
  • Perform data analysis, maintain records, report analytical results, prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sample preparation and analysis, and assist in manuscript preparation for publications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of problems with laboratory equipment.
  • Consult with core users regarding appropriateness of analytical methods and experimental design.
  • Coordinate sample collection and batch preparation together with other lab staff.
  • Participate in and present findings at weekly lab meetings and provide cross‑training to other lab members.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Ph.D., Pharm.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology, Analytical Chemistry, Life Sciences or related discipline with a background within preclinical and clinical pharmacokinetic studies. A Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory will also be considered.
  • Previous experience using LC‑MS/MS instrumentation for quantitative analysis of large and small molecules required.
  • Experience with Waters and/or AB Sciex instruments is particularly desirable.
  • Experience with ICP‑MS analyses using an Agilent system is also desirable.
  • Other important skills include knowledge of analytical chemistry and experience with instrument controller software programs, like MassLynx® and Analyst®.
  • Knowledge of the principles of quantitative analysis and familiarity with the FDA’s Biomedical Method Validation Guidance for Industry are also preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation, and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing high‑quality analytical chemistry services for users of the core facility are essential.
