Departmental Overview
The Senior Associate Director of Engagement Programs for the College of Engineering reports to the Executive Director of Engagement Programs within the Office of Marketing and Communications. Working collaboratively to plan and execute college-wide events and outreach activities to increase engagement among key constituencies, including current and prospective students, alums, donors, faculty, staff and off-campus partners. The responsibilities of this position include building upon the college's existing events and outreach activities and proactively identifying and planning new opportunities to engage these constituencies further. Evaluating new events to ensure they meet and align with the college's mission and its strategic and fundraising goals.
Events and activities may be in-person, hybrid, or virtual. They include the Dean's lecture series, annual academic and alums programs and celebrations (Commencement, Orientation, Cal Day and Homecoming), donor events, college community celebrations and town halls. The Senior Associate Director will also collaborate with college departments, providing consultation, advice, and management in planning selected events. Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute activities that reflect the mission of the College and serve its strategic goals and priorities. Determine and analyze requirements on all events and identify budget parameters for each event.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in making decisions and managing events. Skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus for fundraising events. Skills to provide excellent donor stewardship.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities.

Role Summary

The Onsite Associate Inspector provides support to the Senior Inspector and on‑site management team in maintaining community standards and ensuring compliance with association policies. The role involves coordinating inspection activities, assisting with administrative and hearing‑related processes, and serving as a point of contact for homeowners when needed. Additional responsibilities include providing general operational support and assisting with projects as directed by management. This is a field‑based position with routine travel between assigned communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Inspector as needed/directed and understand the duties and responsibilities of the inspector role.
  • Work with Senior Inspector to coordinate assigned “sections” of the community for inspection.
  • Physically inspect homes within the association/sub‑associations and manage/monitor/violate/escalate or close per community documents, standards, and policies and procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing & verifying VEC hearing minutes for all VEC hearings in accordance with the association’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist on‑site staff as needed/directed.
  • Email, phone, or meet in person with owners whose violations may need further assistance, and escalated to management as needed.
  • Attend all VEC hearings and take notes to assist Inspector(s) and/or ACAM with meeting minutes.
  • Assist with additional projects or tasks as needed and directed by the Manager.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with professional environmental services as a consultant or client, developing scopes of work, directing work, issuing or responding to RFP or RFQs.
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence, and growth.
  • Ability to innovate and re‑think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Sound decision‑making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities.
  • Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area, including ability to lead pursuits and proposals.
  • Commitment to internal and external client service.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
