ABOUT THE JOB
The Production Supervisor oversees the day-to-day activities of liquid products operations to meet GSF objectives and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Supervises the daily activities of assigned staff, providing instructions and performance feedback to ensure that productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded.
- Identifies and resolves process and equipment problems, using available resources to maintain productivity and quality.
- Implements approaches to improve quality and productivity by developing new ideas, improving processes, and planning for upcoming equipment or process changes.
- Routinely informs and communicates with employees to promote smooth operations, enhance their understanding of GSF policies and objectives, and to ensure compliance with established production policies and procedures.
- Drive Daily Management Systems to deliver improved results every shift, every day
- Own the Incident Elimination, Clean Inspect Lube (CIL) management, and Defect Handling DMS's
- Ensure any safety / quality / food safety behavior & condition issues are resolved quickly
- Own the scorecard, gap analysis, & action planning processes for the line
- Drive effective operational reviews (shift hand-off, shiftly ops review, daily ops review)
- Eliminate barriers for the line teams to achieve results and enroll support groups when necessary
- Responsible for administration of people management systems (staffing, training, etc)
- Communication - ensure the teams are receiving the right information
- Drive Continuous Improvement of systems and results
- Successful delivery of initiatives
- Develop individual capability in Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) standard work processes
- Using problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate operational issues
- Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
- Leads up to 50 mostly hourly employees
- Tour Leadership (Coaching team on standards execution)
- Coach the teams on keeping the line at base condition
- Department level system ownership (could also own a site level system)
- Be a coach for the teams on the use of GPS (IWS) tools to solve problems (Why Why, Basic Problem Solving, etc.)
- Escalate issues that need further attention properly
- Demonstrate the GSF Creed and Values

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education/Certification:
Experience sufficient
Experience:
2 years of relevant work experience in a food-manufacturing environment with lead or supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing

- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:
- Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments
- Constantly work near moving machinery
- Constantly work in cold (35-40 degrees)
- Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
Machines/Tools/Equipment/Software:
- Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.
- Rubber and cotton gloves.
- Knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible for

ABOUT THE ROLE
Serves as the regular contact between GSF Product Development / LP Management, McDonald’s Menu Management, Quality Systems and all Supply Chain partners to help facilitate project management including communication regarding new product development, product commercialization, technical issues/opportunities, manage current projects, coordinate new concepts with product development within McDonald’s and GSF as well as ensure high quality customer service, rapid problem response and resolution.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Facilitates communication regarding the development of new products or duplication of target products from concept to launch into McDonald’s restaurants, as requested by McDonalds, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality customer service. Facilitates resolution of technical product issues efficiently and to customer’s satisfaction. (20%)
- Schedules and facilitates new and core product reviews to support new product launches. Facilitates planning between McDonalds’ Menu and Quality Systems staff and GSF R&D, Quality Assurance and Operations to ensure customer needs are met and GSF receives regular required feedback for effective decision-making. (20%)
- Supports communication between GSF LPNA and McDonald’s Supply Chain on New Product and LTO launches. Leads interactions, troubleshoots, and problem-solves product development and new product and core supply chain issues regarding GSF products, national promotions, and regional promotional activities to ensure rapid problem response and resolution with McDonald’s. (20%)
- Coordinates the presentation of new concepts to McDonald’s which includes providing samples for evaluation, creating presentation materials, attending focus groups, assisting with taste panel testing and following up with the appropriate GSF contacts. (10%)
- Hosts McDonald’s at GSF facilities for scale up, first production, and oversees sample coordination and approval process alongside R&D as part of the new product commercialization process. (10%)
- Participates in the McDonald’s New Products Supply Chain, Core Supply Chain and Supply Chain partners meetings and special project teams to provide input and direction on McDonalds’ strategic initiatives and menu development. (5%)
- Attends the McDonald’s QS product cuttings and attends the McDonald’s Liquid Product Innovation Team meetings. (5%)
- Look for and anticipate opportunities outside of our current portfolio to gain market share within the McDonald’s business. (5%)
- Maintain customer-facing demonstration kitchen and shared office space to support customer evaluations, product testing, and internal evaluation efforts in the Chicago Innovation Center. Assist in hosting McDonald’s or related organizations such as Ronald McDonald House for events in Chicago IC. (5%)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 5-7 or more years of relevant experience in product development, customer service, account management and/or marketing.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or related technical field from an accredited college or university

Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Create Amazing Food
- Prepare menu items to Wonder standards while keeping stations clean, stocked, and organized
- Follow HACCP and all food-safety guidelines, including proper temperatures and storage
- Manage inventory scans, pack accurate portions, and ensure every order is correct before it goes out
Deliver Incredible Hospitality
- Greet guests warmly and assist with orders, pickups, payments, and the Wonder app
- Share knowledge about our concepts, support meal-kit and delivery operations, and ensure dispatch accuracy
- Participate in light local marketing activities (flyers, street engagement, etc.)
Keep Our Restaurants Looking Their Best
- Maintain top-tier sanitation and cleanliness across kitchen and dining areas
- Wash, clean, and restock cookware, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift
- Manage trash/recycling properly and report equipment issues promptly
Be a Key Part of the Team
- Support teammates, jump in where needed, and maintain a positive, high-energy environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen or customer-facing role
- Ability to work with speed, accuracy, and strong attention to detail
- Solid organization, clear verbal communication, and ability to follow directions
- Team-oriented with basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for a full shift while working
- Must have weekend availability
