Creative Director Atlanta, Georgia, United States
MARKETWAKE, LLC
atlanta, ga

Creative Director

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Read this first

Most agency job descriptions are written by HR. This one isn't.

We're a small shop in Atlanta with the ambition of a big one. We're not the Big Six of advertising agencies. We don't pretend to be because we were built to be different. What we are is a group of people who care a lot about our work, who've outgrown the ceiling above us, and who are looking for someone to come in and help raise it with powerful creative direction for our clients.

That's what this job is: not running a department, but helping us shift the way we think about creative.

If you've spent the last decade making other people's agencies famous and you're ready to put your name on something, keep reading.

If you want a title and a steady run of brand refreshes, this isn't it.

Who we're looking for

You've done the work. You've got the portfolio, the awards, the case studies, the scars. You've been an ACD or CD somewhere good, long enough to know what great feels like and what mediocre smells like the second it walks into the room.

You can sell through painting a vision. You walk into a pitch and the room shifts. When you’re speaking, a client leans forward in the chair because you just made their problem feel like an opportunity. You've closed business not for the sake of the sale, but because you believed in the creative vision your team created.

You build worlds. A logo isn't a logo to you, it's a doorway. A campaign isn't a campaign, it's a position the brand will occupy for a decade. You think in systems and recognize your team members as the keys to making them successful.

You lead with care. The best creatives you've ever worked for made you better and made you feel safe enough to be bad before you were good. That's the kind of room you build. Not the screaming‑genius cliché. The other kind, the one where people actually do their best work because they trust you.

You're not afraid of AI. You've already integrated it. You know what it's good at, what it's bad at, and where the craft still has to come from a human brain. You don't think the tools are the threat. You think pretending they don't exist is.

You're not afraid of fast, or messy, or clients who don't yet know what they want, because turning that into clarity is part of the job, and frankly, the part you're best at.

What you'd actually do here

  • Own the creative direction and quality of output. Brand, campaign, digital, content. If it goes out with our name on it, the standard is yours.
  • Build the team. We have incredible talent – I believe some of the best in the industry. We need you to find the gaps, fill them, develop the people already here, and make this the place designers and writers in Atlanta want to work. The org chart is yours to argue for.
  • Sit at the table. You'll be in the room with our leadership on positioning, on pricing, on which clients we chase and which we walk away from. Creative isn't downstream of strategy here. Creative IS our strategy.
  • Be the face of the work. Pitches, conferences, podcasts, panels, the awards circuit (if you want it). When clients in this city think "creative agency," we want them to think of your name as well as ours.
  • Make us better than we are. We know what we're capable of. We're looking for someone who can see the next version of us before we can.

What's honestly true

We offer actual ownership of the creative direction of an agency, not the seventeenth seat at someone else's table. We can offer a culture that breathes life into our work, our people and our clients. We believe in what we do and enjoy it.

Some of our clients are sophisticated. Some are still figuring out what a brand is. Both can be great work, different muscles, same standard.

Our processes are imperfect. You'll inherit some good ones, some bad ones, but not a lot of "we've always done it this way" – you're welcome to break and build with us because we do that well here.

You will work hard. Not because we celebrate burnout (we don't, and we'll back you up when you protect your team), but because building something is harder than maintaining something, and we are here to build better worlds.

The basics

12+ years creative experience, at least 3 in senior creative leadership. Portfolio that makes us want to meet you within 30 seconds of opening it. Fluent in Adobe, Figma, and whatever's coming next. Atlanta-based or willing to be. This is hybrid, and presence matters when you're building a culture.

Comprehensive benefits, 401(k), real PTO that you'll actually take, flexible hours, and a leadership team that has your back.

How to apply

Send us your work. Tell us what you'd do in your first 90 days. Skip the cover letter unless you want to write one. We'd rather read three sentences about a project you're proud of than three paragraphs of "I am writing to express my interest."

We read everything, pay attention to details and ultimately, want someone that appreciates our culture and love of team. We want someone that helps us protect the very intriguing dynamic of who we are while helping us build towards new levels of creation.

This is not a normal job description, because we are not looking for someone who wants a job, we want someone who wants to help us build, who is passionate, loves people, cares deeply about creative work, and can sit at the table with a fast-growth, hungry team.

If this resonates, we are excited to hear from you.

Senior Media Supervisor/ Associate Media Director / Media Director
Ctpboston
boston, ma

Associate Media Director / Media Director

CTP is looking for an Associate Media Director or Media Director to join our growing media team.

We love working with talented people, and we continually look for compassionate co‑workers with a collaborative spirit to add to our community. Our work moves quickly and we’re great at coming together to find creative solutions for our clients’ most interesting problems. CTP’s wide array of work can be seen here .

This role is focused on paid digital media strategy and execution—including planning, buying, optimization, and performance analysis across digital channels. It is not a social media management, content, production, or video‑focused role.

We’re open to candidates at either the Associate Media Director or Media Director level, depending on experience, leadership depth, and client ownership. The scope of the role and compensation will align with level.

In this role, you’ll lead the planning and execution of integrated paid digital media campaigns, translating client goals into smart, performance‑driven media strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with analytics, creative, and account teams, bring clarity and confidence to client conversations, and help shape how media shows up across the agency.

You will remain hands‑on in platform, overseeing campaign setup, optimization, and reporting, while also playing a key role in mentoring team members and contributing to the evolution of our media practice.

At the Associate Media Director level, this role balances hands‑on campaign leadership with growing client ownership. At the Media Director level, the role expands to include deeper client leadership, team development, and greater influence on the direction of our media practice.

CTP is looking for someone who will contribute to our agency’s success by:

  • Leading paid digital media strategy across multiple accounts
  • Translating performance data into clear, actionable insights for clients
  • Strengthening the connection between media strategy and analytics
  • Championing innovation through testing new platforms, tools, and tactics
  • Building trust with clients through clarity, confidence, and thoughtful recommendations
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Helping shape the future of our media practice

This is a strong next step for someone looking to deepen their digital expertise, expand their client leadership skills, and help shape meaningful work in an environment that values growth as much as great ideas. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commute to our Boston office 2x/week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
  • 8–10+ years of hands‑on paid digital media experience within an agency environment
  • Direct experience planning, buying, optimizing, and reporting on paid digital campaigns
  • Expert command of ad‑serving platforms such as Google Campaign Manager (DCM) or similar tools
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable analyzing data and building presentations
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
  • A collaborative mindset, with experience contributing to team success and a willingness to mentor, share knowledge, and grow from feedback
  • A natural curiosity about the evolving digital landscape and enthusiasm for testing new platforms, technologies, and approaches
  • Familiarity with media research tools (e.g., Kantar, Comscore, Nielsen, Resonate) is a plus

This role is likely not a fit if your background is primarily in organic social media, content creation, influencer marketing, or video production without hands‑on experience managing paid digital media campaigns.

Please note, all employees are required to be in‑office at our CTP location on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $125,000 annually. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, supportive culture focused on delivering breakthrough ideas for our clients.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment. If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete any part of the application process or in your work once hired, please contact our Human Resources Department.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
