Head of Business Strategy & Transformation, CTO
Yahoo Holdings Inc.
nashville, tn
Compensation: 125.000 - 150.000

Yahoo serves as a trusted guide for hundreds of millions of people globally, helping them achieve their goals online through our portfolio of iconic products. For advertisers, Yahoo Advertising offers omnichannel solutions and powerful data to engage with our brands and deliver results.

The Mission

Yahoo is in the midst of a massive digital and cultural transformation. The Central Technology organization is the engine of this change, shifting from a reactive service provider to a proactive, product-led partner.

We are seeking a Head of Business Strategy & Transformation to act as the right hand to the CTO. It is a strategic leadership role responsible for the "business of technology." You will treat the organization as a system, architecting the financial models, workforce strategies, and operational mechanisms that allow us to scale efficiency and drive innovation.

Who You Are

  • A Systems Thinker: You don't just solve problems; you build sustainable mechanisms to prevent them. You apply an engineering mindset to business operations.
  • A Driver: You are comfortable challenging the status quo, pushing back on stakeholders (including Finance and Business Units), and driving decisions to closure.
  • A Translator: You speak two languages fluently: Engineering and Finance. You can translate complex technical necessities into business cases that a CFO understands, and financial constraints into operational realities that engineers respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the complete financial model for Central Tech, moving beyond basic budgeting to design transparent cost-allocation mechanisms and unit-economic models that align technical consumption with business value.
  • Build AI-driven forecasting and governance models to automate the "business of tech," replacing manual budgeting with real-time visibility into cloud costs, engineering ROI, and resource efficiency.
  • Treat business operations as an engineering problem by building scalable, automated mechanisms for forecasting, resource tracking, and decision-making, minimizing manual intervention and administrative overhead.
  • Proactively manage the organization's non-people spend, driving rigorous audits of software portfolios, vendor contracts, and cloud usage to eliminate "undifferentiated heavy lifting" and deliver hard savings.
  • Act as the primary strategic interface between Central Tech, Finance, and the Executive Leadership Team, translating complex technical roadmap items into clear business cases for the Board and C-suite.
  • Lead cross-functional "tiger teams" to evaluate critical buy-vs-build decisions, modernize legacy practices, and set the long-term commercial direction for emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Content Delivery).
  • Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to drive the cultural transformation toward a product-oriented operating model, defining the metrics that measure our speed and efficiency.
  • Own high-stakes, strategic, cross-company programs including software intake, open source, digital transformation, M&A&D (Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures), etc. and drive them to successful outcomes.
  • Build the narrative and cultural identity of the organization, leading executive communications, community engagement, and internal events to foster alignment and a unified "One Team" mindset during the transformation.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams
  • 10+ years of combined experience in software development, program management, business development, or business operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy, or Technical Program Management, ideally within a large-scale technology organization
  • Proven ability to design operational systems. You love data and hate manual processes
  • Deep experience with P&L management, Capex/Opex modeling, and cloud unit economics (FinOps)
  • Experience in management consulting or as a founder/operator

The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.

At Yahoo, we offer flexible hybrid work options that our employees love! While most roles don't require regular office attendance, you may occasionally be asked to attend in-person events or team sessions. You'll always get notice to make arrangements. Your recruiter will let you know if a specific job requires regular attendance at a Yahoo office or facility. If you have any questions about how this applies to the role, just ask the recruiter!

Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on age, race, gender, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability or any other protected category. Yahoo will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law. Requests and calls received for non-disability related issues, such as following up on an application, will not receive a response.

We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace strengthens Yahoo and deepens our relationships. When you support everyone to be their best selves, they spark discovery, innovation and creativity. Salary: $150,000 – $400,000 per year

A bit about us

We are a fast-growing team that builds custom AI software to solve painful, measurable operational problems inside complex enterprises. This is not off-the-shelf software. Our work looks and feels closer to high-stakes custom software plus professional services plus enterprise transformation than traditional SaaS. Our customers are large, operations-heavy organizations where decisions are slow, stakeholders are many, and trust matters. We win by earning executive credibility, shaping the right solution with technical leadership, and delivering outcomes buyers can measure and fund.

Why join us

This is a rare seat for the right kind of seller.

  • You own the full pursuit. From first outreach through signed SOW, you source, qualify, advance, and close. No handoffs.
  • You sell outcomes, not SKUs. You turn ambiguous problems into a clear commercial path with scope, milestones, success metrics, and risk posture buyers trust.
  • You build relationships worth $10M to $50M over time. This is about durable multi‑year partnerships, not a one‑off close.
  • High autonomy, high accountability. Remote in the U.S. with customer travel as needed.
  • You influence the GTM engine. You will help create repeatable playbooks for targeting, messaging, qualification, and closing, and feed market signals back into delivery.
  • Realistic ramp expectations. The focus is building a reliable revenue engine, not forcing an unrealistic day‑90 close target.

Job Details

Title: Enterprise Head of Business Development

Location: Remote (U.S.) with travel to customers and occasional team time as needed

Compensation: Base around $150k with OTE $300k to $400k, uncapped commission (plus meaningful accelerators for large deals). Additional upside possible for exceptional performers.

What Success Looks Like (Ramp)

  • Days 1 to 60: Learn positioning and delivery realities. Build a target account list and messaging by segment. Re‑engage warm opportunities and start outreach.
  • Days 60 to 120: Generate qualified discovery. Advance 2 to 4 real pursuits with mutual action plans and identified sponsors. Deliver 1 to 2 proposals tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Months 4 to 9: Close at least one meaningful deal (timing depends on deal size and procurement). Establish repeatable pipeline and forecasting discipline. Create an expansion path in at least one strategic account.

Candidate Requirements

  • 6+ years B2B enterprise sales with complex, multi‑stakeholder, multi‑month pursuits
  • Track record building and managing 7 to 8 figure customer relationships over time
  • Experience selling custom software, digital transformation, AI solutions, analytics, automation, or services‑led enterprise software
  • Executive presence and credibility with senior leaders across Ops, IT, Finance, Risk, and Legal
  • Ability to turn ambiguous problems into scope, milestones, success metrics, pricing, and risk paths
  • A portable network and credibility in one or more of these verticals: manufacturing, industrial operations, utilities, energy, infrastructure, construction, field services, supply chain, logistics, asset‑heavy operators

Nice to Haves

  • Experience as an early enterprise sales hire helping build a GTM motion at a growing startup
  • You can hold deal control through procurement, security, and legal without losing momentum
  • You care about long‑term relationship value and expansion, not just a single close

Senior Product Manager - Platform
Mixpanel
san francisco, ca
Compensation: 125.000 - 150.000

Mixpanel turns data clarity into innovation. Trusted by more than 29,000 companies, including Workday, Pinterest, LG, and Rakuten Viber, Mixpanel’s AI‑first digital analytics help teams accelerate adoption, improve retention, and ship with confidence. Powering this is an industry‑leading platform that combines product and web analytics, session replay, experimentation, feature flags, and metric trees. Mixpanel delivers insights that customers trust. Visit mixpanel.com to learn more.

About the Team

Mixpanel’s Product organization is built on small, autonomous pods — engineering, product, and design working side by side with direct access to customer data, feedback, and business metrics. We operate from first principles, challenge assumptions, and bias toward simple, elegant solutions. Product owns execution end to end.

About the Role

As Mixpanel scales into the enterprise, the platform that underpins how customers manage, secure, and control their Mixpanel environment becomes increasingly strategic. This isn’t a role about a single feature or workflow — it’s about the foundational systems that determine whether a 500‑person company trusts us with their data and their organizational complexity.

The Senior PM, Platform will own Mixpanel’s core enterprise management surface: RBAC and permissions, SSO and passkeys, authentication services, bulk user and workspace management, audit logs, admin controls, and settings UX. You’ll be the PM for the systems that enterprise IT and security teams evaluate when deciding whether to standardize on Mixpanel.

This role requires someone who thinks in systems, understands the security and compliance requirements of enterprise customers, and knows how to build trust — with engineering, with customers, and with the cross‑functional teams that depend on platform stability. If you’re energized by infrastructure that quietly powers everything and occasionally takes center stage during a security review, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the roadmap for Mixpanel’s enterprise management surface — RBAC, SSO/passkeys, auth services, audit logs, admin controls, bulk user management, and settings UX.
  • Develop a principled view of what the platform must guarantee (security, compliance, reliability) vs. what can be iterative — and sequence investments accordingly.
  • Anticipate requirements from enterprise customers, internal security reviews, and compliance obligations; design ahead of the ask rather than reacting to it.
  • Build business cases for platform investments, making the indirect ROI of security and compliance work legible to leadership.
  • Establish operating cadence and governance across the two engineering tracks: align dependencies, create clear owners, and ensure predictable delivery.
  • Approach every platform problem with structured curiosity: frame clear hypotheses, test assumptions with lightweight experiments, and evaluate second‑order effects before committing.
  • Stay directly connected to enterprise customers and security‑facing stakeholders (Sales, CS, Legal) to understand how platform limitations show up in real deals and renewals.
  • Synthesize signal from security reviews, compliance inquiries, support tickets, and customer interviews into clear, prioritized product proposals.
  • Own the consistency and reliability of shared authentication, permissions, and admin patterns across Mixpanel’s product portfolio — ensure every product team builds on a stable, well‑governed foundation.
  • Partner with engineering leads to define clear APIs, auth contracts, and permission interfaces that prevent hidden dependencies and enable safe evolution.
  • Define and maintain measurement standards for platform health: uptime, auth failure rates, admin task completion, enterprise onboarding velocity.
  • Work closely with application security to ensure platform features meet enterprise security standards and pass external audits.

Experience

  • 5+ years of PM experience owning meaningful problems end‑to‑end; direct experience with identity, access management, enterprise administration, or security‑adjacent product work strongly preferred.
  • Track record of driving alignment and delivering outcomes across engineering, security, and GTM functions without formal authority.
  • Experience building business cases for security, compliance, or infrastructure investments where ROI is indirect or realized over long time horizons.
  • Familiarity with enterprise sales and the role platform features (SSO, RBAC, audit logs) play in closing and renewing enterprise accounts.

Skills

  • Systems thinker: you understand how platform‑layer decisions ripple across products, user journeys, and engineering teams, and you reason about second‑order effects before committing to a direction.
  • Technical fluency: credible with engineers on identity, auth, and security infrastructure tradeoffs; can partner on architecture‑level product decisions without needing to be an engineer.
  • Curious by default: you ask better questions before proposing solutions, challenge assumptions respectfully, and design lightweight experiments to validate direction.
  • Customer‑obsessed even on infrastructure: you stay connected to how platform quality shows up for end users and enterprise admins, not just internal teams.
  • Clear, direct communicator: you can write a crisp one‑pager, align senior stakeholders on a difficult tradeoff, and make security/compliance topics accessible to non‑technical audiences.
  • AI‑native: you use AI tools actively in your day‑to‑day product work — research, synthesis, discovery — and can point to specific ways they’ve changed how you operate.

Bonus Points

  • Deep familiarity with SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC), passkeys/WebAuthn, or RBAC design patterns.
  • Experience navigating SOC 2, GDPR, or enterprise security review processes as a PM.
  • Hands‑on Mixpanel user who understands the product from the inside.
  • Experience at a company navigating single‑product to multiproduct platform complexity.
  • Experience writing production‑grade software or working directly with auth/identity APIs.

Compensation

The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage.
