Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist

Job Purpose and Position Overview: To perform laboratory testing for WCHS laboratory. This position is a 7 on 7 off position working Wednesday-Tuesday on your week to work. Shift is 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe's core mission, vision, and values
  • Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the MT/MLT provides technical support by performing analyses, tests, and procedures that assist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases.
  • Accessioning/ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and processing specimens with referral to the reference laboratories.
  • Operates, maintains, and calibrates the equipment used to ensure it is operating efficiently and providing accurate results
  • Performs basic troubleshooting as needed
  • Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and write laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Exposure to infectious clinical specimens on a regular basis, so adherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required.
  • This position is responsible for using his/her skill, accuracy, proficiency, and dedication to work in all laboratory sections performing analytical testing on patients specimens.
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Candidate must be comfortable with routine phlebotomy.

Qualifications/Skills:
