Role Overview

The Global Development Lead (GDL) represents Clinical on the Global Medicine Team and is the single clinical point of accountability for clinical development for assigned asset(s) in Internal Medicine. The GDL leads the cross‑functional Clinical Development Team—including clinical, clinical pharmacology, statistics, safety, commercial, patient access, and operations colleagues—in the design, execution and interpretation of studies in support of worldwide regulatory submissions.

The GDL is accountable for creating and gaining endorsement for the Clinical Development Plan and associated protocol design documents. The GDL may also partner with external companies in support of Pfizer’s Partner of Choice model and acts as a key partner to other clinical and clinical operations colleagues across all studies for the assigned asset(s). The GDL is expected to be an internal subject‑matter expert in their therapeutic area and in clinical drug development.

Additional responsibilities may include leadership opportunities in support of the Obesity portfolio, trial design, execution and reporting of clinical trials for other late‑stage assets, and specialized monitoring support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner effectively with the ProductTeam Lead to negotiate tradeoffs, milestones and ensure delivery of the clinical program in line with agreed timelines and budget.
  • Responsible for a comprehensive clinical development plan to secure approval and reimbursement globally (including China and Japan) and for creating the pediatric investigation plan / pediatric study plan and associated protocol design documents working closely with trial clinicians to ensure feasibility and optimized operational execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education: MD or DO.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, internal medicine, or obesity medicine specialist with drug development experience across all phases of development. Experience with cardiovascular outcome trials or large complex, global development programs is desired.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience and a track record of success in academia and/or the biopharmaceutical industry in clinical research and development.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical development, global and regional regulation, ICH/GCP, and adverse event management.
  • Demonstrated clinical/medical, administrative, and project management capabilities, and effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to individuals both inside and outside Pfizer.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and training large teams in clinical development.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and launching large teams (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $295,900.00 to $493,100.00. Summary

The Machine Learning Engineer – Platforms supports the development, reliability, and scalability of the enterprise AI/ML platform used across clinical and business operations. Major Work Activities

The major work activities of the role include:

  • Support development, administration, and maintenance of the enterprise AI/ML platform (Dataiku, Kubernetes, Azure), ensuring scalability, reliability, and smooth integration with institutional systems.
  • Orchestrate training, deployment, and inference pipelines within Dataiku targeting Azure and on‑premises Kubernetes clusters.
  • Develop and maintain MLOps workflows for reproducibility, version control, governance, and model lifecycle management.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred Experience/Skills: Healthcare experience needed, experience with MLOps platforms and/or cloud AI certifications, strong proficiency in CI/CD and automation of the AI lifecycle, experience working on healthcare focused machine learning projects.
