Physician Clinical Reviewer - Urology- REMOTE

Job Description

Key member of the utilization management team, and provides timely medical review of service requests that do not initially meet the applicable medical necessity guidelines. Routinely interacts with physicians, leadership and management staff, other Physician Clinical Reviewers (PCR), and health plan members and staff whenever a physician’s input is needed or required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews cases in which clinical determinations cannot be made by the Initial Clinical Reviewer.
  • Discusses determinations with requesting physicians or ordering providers, when available, within the regulatory time frame of the request by phone or fax.
  • Provides clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals.
  • Provides assistance and acts as a resource to Initial Clinical Reviewers as needed to discuss cases and problems.
  • Utilizes medical/clinical review guidelines and parameters to assure consistency in the physician review process so as to reflect appropriate utilization and compliance with Prime's policies/procedures, as well as URAC and NCQA guidelines.
  • Ensures documentation of all communications with medical office staff and/or physician/provider is recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in on‑going inter‑rater reliability training and testing.
  • Assists the Medical Director and/or VP, Medical Director in research activities/questions related to the Utilization Management process, interpretation, guidelines, and/or system support.
  • On a requested basis, reviews appeal cases and/or attends hearings for discussion of utilization management decisions.
  • On a requested basis, may function as Medical Director for select health plans or regions, assuming overall accountability for utilization management while working in conjunction with the VP, Medical Director.

Position Summary: The RN is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include:

Position:

Under the supervision of the Immigration Unit Attorney Supervisor, the Immigration Unit staff attorney will work solely on immigration related matters, providing training and case-specific advice to Assistant Public Defenders (APDs) representing non-citizen clients, as required by the Supreme Court’s decision in Padilla v. Kentucky. The staff attorney will also represent individuals before the Chicago immigration court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and Department of Homeland Security. Must understand and practice the mission of the Office. Will remain current on immigration law, policies, and procedures, including any implications of criminal and civil law as it applies to the representation of immigrants.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assessments to APDs representing non-citizen clients regarding the impact of any pending charge or potential plea offer that will affect the client's ability to lawfully remain and/or obtain lawful status in the United States.
  • Assist APDs in gathering relevant information to compile a comprehensive assessment.
  • Communicate directly with APO clients and their families as necessary, to review immigration

Applications may include cancellation of removal for lawful permanent residents, nonpermanent residents, and victims of domestic violence; adjustment of status; asylum, withholding of removal, and Convention Against Torture protection; T and U visas, inadmissibility waivers; VAWA self-petitions and SU petitions; voluntary departure; and requests for prosecutorial discretion.
  • Establish and maintain contact with Immigration Unit clients, including periodically visiting with clients in detention centers and regularly speaking with clients on the phone.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of law with a Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Maintain and provide proof of a current Law License in good standing in any State in the United
