The schedule for this opportunity is M-F with mutual flexibility. Located at Boise Hospital (main campus) with outreach to clinics 1-2 times per month & affiliated telemedicine network facilities. Call is shared equally among 5 providers.

Support

Support: Cardiac MRI and CT Angiography, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Neurosurgery and a large group of Hospitalists and Intensivists. SAMG has a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations. The cardiac cath lab is staffed with board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology techs and cardiovascular technologists.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology - or obtain certifications within 3 years of employment.
  • Unrestricted full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases · Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC- Nampa, SARMC - Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

The scope of duties in adult general urology includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients with various disorders of the genitourinary system in the ambulatory and hospital settings, including oncology, stone disease, and male and female voiding dysfunction. The practice is supported by physician assistants and nurse practitioners, a state‑of‑the‑art video urodynamics suite, substantial procedural and office space, and dedicated and experienced clinical staff. There is an opportunity to utilize the da Vinci Robotic System. The OSU Wexner Medical Center offers an excellent opportunity to establish multidisciplinary and outreach programs. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physician’s standards of practice.

All OSU faculty participate in quality improvement, practice management, continuing education, and other patient care programs. Patient call is shared on an equal basis with other physicians.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs surgical procedures where assigned.
  • Directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in the medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patients and their families; responds and maintains open communication with referring physicians.
  • Performs other duties and/or call assignments as defined by the Chair or her designee.
  • Ensures continuing medical educational requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
  • Serves as preceptor and provides training of residents, fellows, and students, as well as other members of the health professions team including advanced practice providers.

Requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or board eligible in specialization required. Eligible for State of Ohio and DEA licensure.

Job Description

The purpose of the Certified Anesthesiology Assistant is to provide perioperative management of patients where anesthesia services are indicated. Duties involved in providing this care include pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative evaluation of patients requiring anesthetized surgical and non-surgical procedures. The AA administers appropriate anesthetics in the framework of a written practice protocol developed for the anesthesiologist’s assistant with the attending anesthesiologists in a manner consistent with standards of practice. In addition, the AA is thoroughly familiar with the use of anesthesia machines and related equipment, assist in transport of patients, maintains adequate patient records, participates in the teaching activities of the department, participates in a variety of continuing education programs, and demonstrates a high level of professionalism in the performance of the duties of an AA Practitioner. Also, provides resuscitative care as indicated.

  • Evidenced successful completion of Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
  • Current certification from an agency recognized by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and the Anesthesiologist’s Assistant Committee.
  • Evidence of licensure, or ability, by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.

Must demonstrate current competency in the clinical privileges extended. Must be proficient in the operation of anesthesia equipment. Current knowledge in anesthesia practice. Must exhibit basic knowledge of safety in a health care facility. Knowledge and practice of universal precautions in patient contact is required. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with surgeons, residents, anesthesia personnel, and nursing staff. Guidelines for practice are described in the departmental policy and procedure book. AAs practice under the clinical supervision of an anesthesiologist and the administrative supervision of the CRNA manager for their cost center.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

  • Must be recognized as a Certified AA with current license to practice, or eligible to obtain practice in the state of South Carolina.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA), BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Current certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
