Our 12 bed Critical Care Unit cares for the highest acuity patients across all specialties-including neuro, cardiac, medical, and surgical cases-with capabilities for CVVH and IABP support. The unit typically has 11-12 patients per day with an average stay of about three days, and offers supportive nurse to patient ratios: 2:1 in the ICU (with some 1:1), 3:1 for stepdown, and 4:1 for telemetry, plus a 12:1 NA ratio. Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, provides high quality wound care to patients within Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates and manages patients for wound care and ensures delivery of care meets current standards of practice.
• Ensures education is provided to the facility staff regarding patient's wound(s).
• Address both acute and chronic primary care complaints, and able to ascertain medical urgency.
• Apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
• Consult specialty services as appropriate.
• Order pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
• Accept feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
• Create and implement a medical plan of care.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Perform timely documentation and billing.
